Whiskey, like a beautiful woman, demands appreciation… and the right glass. When we see the golden drink, we immediately think of the life-loving Scot who, with a glass in hand, looks out over one of the many legendary Lochs. But don't just give a Scot a glass to pour his whiskey. Buying a whiskey glass is done in a well-considered manner. Buying a whiskey glass often means choosing between a Tumbler, a Glencairn or a Snifter; three types of whiskey glasses with their own characteristics. If you choose a Tumbler when buying whiskey glasses, then you choose the popular cylindrical glass that is made to serve whiskey with ice. The Glencairn, in turn, has a narrowed top, which means that the aromas are better preserved. This is often a favorite of the seasoned whiskey drinker. Finally, another popular glass that whiskey connoisseurs can appreciate is the Snifter. This glass has something of a lowered wine glass with a wide bottom for optimal rolling. If you like to drink whiskey with ice, go for a Tumbler, otherwise it is better to buy a Glencairn or Snifter whiskey glass.
